The next Leawood Lions Club monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, January 10, 6 p.m. at Leawood City Hall, Oak Room. In addition to updating everyone on the Club’s recent holiday activities such as bell ringing for the Salvation Army and toy collection for Shadow Buddies, we will have a guest speaker. Tom Scott a licensed psychotherapist and an educational consultant in the Kansas City area, will provide a presentation to the Leawood Lions Club.
“We will look at mental health and wellness from a realistic and hope-filled perspective. We don’t always have to be, think, feel and behave the way we’ve always have. We are all the only species that brings the future into the present, fomenting anxiety, frustrations, depression, and uncertainty. We are all constantly under repair and are truly transformable. None of us needs massive overhauls, but rather gentle inner corrections. Developing a language of comfort allows us to begin to complete the past, making now better so that later will be easier. Let’s do it before we poof!”
