The Leawood Lions Club is proud to again be a sponsor of the Great Wind Festival, a free, family-friendly day of outdoor learning and play that celebrates the power and possibilities of wind. Families are invited to Ironwoods Park to enjoy the spring weather, listen to live music, and take part in hands-on activities that explore wind energy, how it moves things, and how it can be used in creative ways.
Kids and their caregivers can build and fly kites, create wind-themed projects, and explore interactive exhibits, discovering how wind can generate energy, move objects, and inspire art and design. The festival is a STEAM-rich experience, giving young people the chance to experiment, build, test, and play side-by-side with their families in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
By attending the Great Wind Festival, you’ll also be supporting local youth Scouting programs that the Leawood Lions help nurture and encourage in our community. We invite you to join us, enjoy a day of discovery and fun, and help lift up the next generation of leaders.
