WHAT WE DO
Leawood Lions Club Serving our Community
Leawood Lions serve. It’s that simple, and it has been since we first began serving in 1954. Our club is a place where individuals join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving our communities, and the world. Below are some of our most recent events and activities. Events
Great Wind Festival – April 26, 2026
The Leawood Lions Club is proud to sponsor the Great Wind Festival, a free, family-friendly day of outdoor fun, learning, and discovery at Ironwoods Park. This springtime event celebrates the power and possibilities of wind through hands-on activities, live entertainment, and opportunities for kids and adults to explore together.
Families can enjoy building and flying kites, creating colorful wind-themed projects, and trying interactive exhibits that show how wind can move objects, generate energy, and inspire creativity in art and design. The festival offers a rich STEAM-focused experience where youth can experiment, build, test, and play side-by-side with their caregivers in a relaxed, outdoor setting.
By joining in the Great Wind Festival, you’ll also be supporting local youth Scouting programs that the Leawood Lions Club helps encourage and uplift in our community.
